Libraries in general are woefully under-appreciated…the HSL at UNC-CH is a special marvel

I have no great story to tell. I just want to take a moment to say how great everyone at the HSL has been to me as a student at UNC-CH. Whether in person at the main desk, over the phone, or chatting via the internet, whenever I have asked for help the staff have been unfailingly friendly, interested, and (most important) very helpful. Libraries in general are woefully under-appreciated, and even the most humble rural bookmobile provides a valuable service to the community, but the HSL at UNC-CH is a special marvel, providing critical resources to the entire academic community and the larger society it strives to serve. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  1. Hi, Walter. Thanks for a wonderful comment on our blog–it definitely made me feel good, as the HSL Liaison to Allied Health Sciences, to hear how well you think we’re doing. I don’t know if we’ve met or not, but I very much appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts about HSL and about the value of libraries in general. I’m honored to serve the faculty, staff, students, preceptors, and alumni of Allied Health Sciences. Barbara Rochen Renner, Ph.D.
